FAQ

What is HLV, HLVd, or HpLVd?

Over 60% of all tested cuttings from Austria and Germany are already infected with HLVd!

Once it enters the grow room, it is almost impossible to eradicate.

HLVd (Hop Latent Viroid) is spreading rapidly according to current inspections — and most growers only realize it when it’s already too late. The viroid is invisible, highly infectious, and capable of permanently ruining entire grow rooms.

A single infected cutting is enough to:

  • contaminate entire rooms
  • drastically reduce yields
  • weaken plant potency
  • put your entire setup at long-term risk

What makes it especially dangerous:

HLVd often shows no visible symptoms for weeks, while it is already destroying yield, growth, and quality — slowly but relentlessly.

Once HLVd is present in a grow room, it can persist in tools, soil, surfaces, mother plants, and even irrigation systems. Many growers are never able to completely eliminate the viroid again.

Why fully tested cuttings are essential

HLVd can:

  • stunt growth
  • cause smaller, looser flowers
  • significantly reduce potency
  • permanently damage mother plants
  • render entire runs unusable

Regular, professional testing is the only reliable way to detect infected plants.

Gas Station Cutz – 100% lab-tested & guaranteed HLVd-free

To protect growers from these exact risks, Gas Station Cutz relies on:

  • continuous laboratory testing
  • professional tissue culture propagation
  • fully tested Gen-0 and Gen-1 cuttings

This ensures that no invisible pathogen puts your entire operation at risk.

Buying tested cuttings is not just a matter of quality — it protects your harvest, your mother plants, and your entire investment.

What means Gen 0 and Gen 1?

Gen-0 cuttings originate directly from sterile in-vitro tissue culture.

These plants are not taken from existing mother plants but are regenerated in a laboratory from pure plant material.

Advantages of Gen-0

  • Highest genetic purity (no mutations, no deviations)
  • Maximum freedom from pathogens and diseases due to sterile lab conditions
  • Perfect for establishing new mother plants
  • Compact, bushy growth with short internodes
  • Ideal for genetic preservation and long-term stability

Gen-0 plants often require a bit more time to acclimate because they come from a completely sterile environment — but once adapted, they develop extremely evenly and remain very stable.

What does Gen-1 mean?

Gen-1 cuttings are the first clones taken from a Gen-0 mother plant after it has fully grown out of the tissue culture process.

They are one generation further, yet still extremely stable and pathogen-free, because their mother plant originates from pure Gen-0 quality.

Advantages of Gen-1

  • Already acclimated, therefore more robust and larger
  • Very vigorous, resilient, and easy to handle
  • Ready for immediate production use
  • Ideal for fast turnaround, scaling, and consistent results
  • Strong genetic fidelity to the original Gen-0 line

Gen-1 cuttings therefore combine the laboratory purity of Gen-0 with the practical robustness of already established plants.

What is Tissue Culture?

In tissue culture, a tiny piece of plant tissue — essentially a “mini plant fragment” — is taken from the plant.

This fragment is sterilized, placed in a nutrient-rich medium, and grows under fully controlled, clean laboratory conditions into a new, genetically identical 1:1 plant.

Because these mini plants are only a few centimeters tall at the start, laboratories can cultivate hundreds to thousands of clones simultaneously in a very small space — cleanly, safely, and extremely efficiently.

The major difference compared to traditional cuttings:

Both methods produce genetic copies, but tissue culture offers key advantages:

  • Diseases can be detected and removed early
  • Pathogens are filtered out
  • Genetics remain clean, stable, and unchanged
  • Plants are produced with laboratory-level purity instead of being exposed to grow-room risks

In short: Tissue culture is cloning — only at a high-end, professional level.

Nutrients and watering

Proper watering is absolutely crucial for your Gas Station Cutz cuttings to establish strong roots.

Both overwatering and underwatering can harm young plants.

The most important step always comes first:

Plug check before every watering

  • Moist plug? → Do nothing. No extra water.
  • Dry plug? → Carefully moisten in small amounts.

The goal is an evenly moist but never soggy plug. Standing water is the enemy of young roots — it quickly causes root rot.

Pay attention to:

  • Good drainage: Excess water must be able to drain away.
  • Weight test:

Light pot = time to water

Heavy pot = enough moisture remains

  • Water temperature: Hand-warm to prevent root shock

3.2 Which soil to use — and when to fertilize first?

For young cannabis cuttings: less is more. Use a nutrient-poor seedling soil that is:

  • Loose and well-aerated
  • Free from high nutrient pressure

When to fertilize?

Only when truly necessary:

  • Visible nutrient deficiency
  • Or when transplanting into a larger pot with richer soil

Generally, seedling soil is sufficient for 4–6 weeks.

Fertilizing too early leads to:

  • Burnt leaf tips
  • Slowed growth
  • Stress symptoms

If you fertilize:

  • Start with 50% of the recommended dose
  • Observe plant reactions
  • Gradually increase if needed

Additional factors to consider:

  • Genetics: Some strains tolerate higher EC values
  • Substrate:

    Coco often requires extra Ca/Mg

Soil contains natural nutrients → fertilize later

  • Environment: Higher temperatures/lighting = higher nutrient demand

💡 Practical tip: “Low & Slow” — less is always better at the beginning.

Order arrived - next steps

1.1 What to do when the cuttings arrive

Your Gas Station Cutz cuttings arrive with a strong, well-developed root system. To ensure they start off optimally, follow these steps:

Acclimation – a gentle start

  • Open the shipping box carefully immediately upon receipt
  • Leave the closed box for 1–2 hours at 20–25°C
  • Avoid direct sunlight, drafts, and proximity to heaters

This allows the cuttings to adapt to temperature and humidity without stress.

Initial inspection

  • Check moisture: Is the growing medium still slightly damp?
  • Check vitality: Are the plants standing upright? Strong, fresh leaf color?
  • Check the root ball: Has the root system fully penetrated the plug?

Signs of a healthy root ball:

  • Light, white to beige, flexible, and fresh
  • Slight browning is normal (substrate or air contact)
  • Warning signs: foul smell, mushy roots → indicates rot

Other quality markers:

  • Firm, well-rooted plug
  • Evenly moist (not soggy!)
  • Plant sits stable and does not wobble

💡 Pro tip: The weight test tells it all:

  • Heavy = moist
  • Light = dry

After acclimation, carefully unpack the cuttings:

  • Dry plug → lightly moisten
  • Moist plug → do not water (risk of standing water & root rot!)

1.2 Handling transport stress

  • Mild wilting is completely normal after shipping. Support cuttings by:

High humidity (70–80%) for 24–48 hours

Lightly mist leaves with pH-adjusted water (5.8–6.3)

  • Within 6–24 hours, plants should visibly recover

1.3 Assessing the growing plug

The plug is the foundation of the young plant — its condition is crucial:

  • Moist plug: dark, slightly damp → do not water
  • Dry plug: light, brittle → moisten carefully

Goal: slightly moist, never dripping wet

Weight test:

  • Light = dry → add a little water
  • Heavy = moist → wait

Initial care and location

After acclimation, your Gas Station Cutz cuttings need a location that encourages slow, controlled growth.

Optimal light conditions:

  • Light intensity: 200–400 PPFD
  • Light cycle: 18 hours on / 6 hours off
  • Light quality: full-spectrum LED or MH lamps (blue-heavy)
  • Distance from light source: 40–60 cm
  • Acclimation: gradually increase light intensity

2.2 Perfect temperature & humidity

  • Temperature:

    Day: 22–26°C

    Night: 18–22°C

  • Humidity:

    First 1–2 days: 70–80%

    Afterwards: 50–60%

  • Air circulation: gentle and indirect
  • CO₂: normal room air (400–600 ppm) is sufficient

Sind Cannabis Stecklinge legal? (Germany)

Was ist erlaubt?

Warum?
Weil Stecklinge kein THC enthalten. Der Wirkstoff entsteht erst während der Blütephase. Deshalb kannst du bei uns völlig entspannt einkaufen, ohne rechtliche Risiken.

Kurz gesagt: Legal. Sicher. Stressfrei.
